ABOUT US
Hello lovely people, I’m Susie, the founder of Aldeburgh Munchies and the person you’ll usually find cooking, chatting, laughing, or dashing around with a tray of sausage rolls or baps.
I’ve been cooking professionally for over 30 years, running food businesses in both London and Suffolk, and I still absolutely love what I do.
I opened Munchies on Aldeburgh High Street back in 2002 with a simple idea: to create a cosy, friendly, community-minded café where people could come and say hi to me in my street fronted kitchen, eat well, feel welcome, and enjoy proper food made with love.
Over time, it’s grown into so much more — a little coastal hub with eat-in, takeaway, catering, ready meals, and a daily flow of regulars who bring the place to life.
I care deeply about local produce, honest cooking, and warm hospitality. Whether you’re popping in for breakfast, grabbing a takeaway, walking the dog, or visiting Aldeburgh for the first time, I want Munchies to feel like a place you can relax, breathe out, and feel at home.
I believe food should be simple, generous, and made with heart — and that’s the philosophy behind everything here. From breakfast baps and soups to cakes, ready meals and daily specials, it’s all created with care and with the community in mind.
Thank you for supporting what I do, for being part of the Munchies family, and for letting this little café be a part of your day.
Love Always Wins — and food always tastes better when it’s made with love. ❤️
